1. Pipelines & Floodwalls
Here is a quick, scenic run that will surprise you. We will run on pipelines suspended above the river. We will run atop the southside floodwall that offers incredible view of the James and downtown Richmond. We have two options to wrap up this run: 1. to cross the T. Potterfield Bridge that crosses the James that really shows off the James and Downtown OR 2. take it up a notch and run to Belle Isle and do a cool rock hop and check out some more incredible views. Some of this is subject to river levels. Check out the Westham Gauge... If the gauge is above 6.5 feet, we may have to do some quick workarounds. The views will be the same but we will have to play it safe. This run is great for early morning, late afternoon, OR NIGHT! We can discuss...

The majority of the downtown trails were built by local outdoor enthusiasts with shovels, McClouds, and bare hands. Saturday mornings well-spent over the years to bring you these incredible trails. Technical Trail Features are scattered all through out these trails with creek crossings, rock gardens, short burst climbs/descents, and more. The countryside comes to the city. Overall Elevation Gain will be low with Richmond elevation between 50 and 175 feet.
Over the years, the city has embraced this network of trails and is behind creating more trails to this day with the assistance of local trail advocacy group RVA MORE . Now(2019), we have approximately 35+ miles of trail that is mostly connected but some require a short road ride to connect. Plus now Pocahontas State Park(8,000+ acres) has built over 35+ miles of trail as well with only a 30 minute drive from downtown.
Richmond has it going on!
