WHO IS BEHIND THE TRAILHEAD TOURS?

    WOODY ELLIOTT
    - - Mountain Biker, Trail Runner, Kayaker, Snowboarder, and the list goes on. I have spent most of my adult life hitting the trails. I began mountain biking in the early 90's when the trails were just starting to bud. My trail running came as a result from cross training for mountain bike racing around 2000. I was part of the volunteer group that built most of the trails around the area; so I know them pretty well. My experience with both endeavors has also taken me outside the Richmond area with multiple Shenandoah Mountain Backcountry 100 Mile Mountain Bike Races, TransRockies Mountain Bike Stage Race, Backcountry hut-2-huts in Colorado & Utah, and the list goes on.

    Experience/Abilities:
MOUNTAIN BIKE OF CHOICE: ROCKY MOUNTAIN TEAM ELEMENT
BEST MOUNTAIN BIKE RACES RIDDEN: TransRockies, Shenandoah Mountain 100 mile Backcountry, Wild 100
Mountain Bike History: since 1991, Race Active Years since 1992

TRAIL RUNNING SHOES OF CHOICE: TOPO Athletic Terradventure & Runventure
BEST TRAIL RUNNING RACE DONE: Grandfurther, Bel Monte
Trail Running: since 2000, Strava says the last two years, I have averaged 1200 miles annually(90% trail). Comfortable with paces up to 7:30/mile but prefer comfort over speed.
    2017: 1300 miles - 2018: 1100 miles
